The Pike County Journal Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia: February 17, 1893 Miss Belle Mitchell Dead We learn with regret that Miss Belle Mitchell of Barnesville died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Powell, on Monday. Her friends and relatives had been expecting the sad tidings, as all hope had been despaired of for some time. Miss Mitchell was a sister of Capt. J.H. Mitchell and Mrs. Kendall of this place and had many warm personal friends here as well as elsewhere who learn of her death with sincere sorrow.
