JONES and ALLEN RELATIVES IN PIKE & LAMAR COUNTIES I am searching for additional information on my great grandfather, WILLIAM RILEY JONES, born in GA, 1 JAN 1807, died 8 DEC 1869 in Pike county, GA. He is buried in Friendship Baptist Church, near Zebulon and Griffin GA, with his wife, MARY ANN ALLEN, born 1824 in GA, died DEC 1865 in same area. I need additional information on his parents and siblings. One source says his parents were ISAAC and MILLY W. JONES, but I have no evidence to that effect or any additional information on these two people. Where were they from? Where in GA were their children born? Children of William Riley and Mary Ann Allen JONES were: R. Isaac, John M., Seaborn A.W., Martha Frances, Malinda (Mildred?), Josiah Allen, Wm. R., Jr., S. A.(died at & yrs), and C. Thomas. (Birth years range from 1843 to 1865.) Isaac, John, S.A.W., and Josiah (Joe; my grandfather), moved to Jackson parish, LA about 1870, with Thomas coming later. ALLEN relatives were part of the 1870 group, with others locating there even earlier. Isaac moved on to TX with other young men who were his ALLEN relatives and lost touch with his family. Martha Frances became a Harris, and Malinda (Milly) married a Willis, with both raising families in the Pike/Lamar county area. I know this is long, and I appreciate your patience, but with names like William Jones and Mary Ann Allen, you have to have lots of detail to pin down the correct families! If any of the descendants or relatives of this family would contact me I would be most grateful just to hear from you. Perhaps we can find Isaac! Or establish communications with the HARRIS and WILLIS families. Is there a web site or message board with info on this branch of the many, many, Joneses?
