Ran into this information in one of my other genealogy newsletters and thought I would share with y'all: GALILEO has added Heritage Quest Online to its online databases. Unlike the Ancestry Library Edition it has remote access so you can use it at home on any computer with Internet. You go to GALILEO, enter the current password and go for it. So sorry, but this is only for Georgia residents. Some GALILEO databases like the Digital Library of Georgia are available free on the Web and you do not HAVE to go through GALILEO to get them. May of the databases are available only with a valid public library card. You must go to your library, present your card and they will give you the current password. They are NOT allowed to e-mail the password or give it out over the phone. It changes every 90 days, so at the end of that period you will have to go back and get another. Each library has a different password. Heritage Quest gives you a chance to search the Federal censuses. The images are as good or better than Ancestry in most cases. There is an index to most censuses, BUT it is not done by soundex, so you may have to try several variations of spelling to find your people. Just thought this would be of interest to those who really like using the census records in their research. Stephanie Bradley
