Hi folks, I'm new to the list, but not new to researching in Pike Co. The web site is wonderful and easy to find what you need, 'if it is there in the first place'. My point, the whole of Georgia, Pike Co. in particular, has a gold mine of research records just waiting for some of us to submit them to the sites. I"ve been working about 25 yrs. (not all that time on the internet) on finding my ancestors and am just now beginning to make some break throughs. So guys, why don't we help each other by posting all those deeds, wills, obits and other records online. We have to send for them anyway and it only takes a few minutes to type them out and forward them to the web managers, (or what ever they are called.) Just think of the time and frustration it will save the next person looking for that Info. In time we could possible have all the records online, wouldn't that be great. I've personally sent in several of my ancestors wills these last few weeks and they were really hard to read, but I did the best I could and I believe some folks, somewhere will be grateful that THEY don't have to do it. I may be sticking my neck out by doing this, but Virginia - crilley@eramp.net is the new GA File manager for Pike Co., Barbara is -bstockatlcom.net@mindspr. Both ladies have been really prompt and patient while working with me. GOOD SUBMITTING. Doris Irons Greer caldor@neto.com
