    3. The Pike County Journal. Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, Jan. 17, 1896 Dr. H. Perdue died at his home in Barnesville this week. He had been in declining health for a year or more. There has been some difference of opinion as to the doctor’s disease, it is said by some that he had consumption, while others said his trouble was cancer of the stomach. Dr. Perdue commenced the practice of medicine at The Rock in Upson county in 1870 and afterwards moved to Barnesville, this county, where he has been long recognized as one of the leading physicians in this section of the state. Dr. Perdue was a member of the Baptist church, a prominent and active member of the State Medical association, and a citizen true and upright.
