The Pike County Journal Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, Friday, January 6, 1928 Hazel - Pitts An affair of sincere interest to a large circle of friends of the bride and groom was the wedding of Miss Ethel Hazel and Mr. R. E. Pitts of Griffin which was solemnized Sunday December 25th, at high noon at the home of the bride's parents. The beautiful impressive ring ceremony was performed by Reverend J. A. Nortan of Griffin in the presence of relatives and close friends of the young couple. The bride was lovely in her two tone traveling suit of brown and tan with accessories to match. Mrs. Pitts is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Hazel of Griffin a sweet disposition and charming personality have endeared her to a large circle of friends. Mr. Pitts is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Pitts and grandson of the late Judge R. R. McLeroy. He is an honor graduate of the class of 1926 of Zebulon High School. Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Pitts left in their car for an extended wedding journey, after which they will return to Griffin where they are to make their home. His grandparents - Gabriel Solomon Pitts and Elizabeth Jones Robert Rufus McLeroy and Ella D Cunningham. Robert E Pitts was a Reverend.
