    3. Charles - Don't cling too tightly to your doubts. Anything is possible. In researching my husband's Franklin & associated Burkett lines, there was an instance where (contrary to what everyone else did) someone was born in AL moved to LA with the family and then returned to AL had children & died there. Can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it was a Burkett as I recall - not in his direct line. Lisa ----- Original Message ----- From: caldw To: GAPIKE-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, November 18, 2002 4:49 PM Subject: [GAPIKE] MORE ON SOLOMON G. BECKHAM I should have continued my posting concerning Solomon G. Beckham Jr. by saying that I have some doubts that he was actually the son of Solomon G., and grandson of James and Martha Carson Beckham. The reason I wonder if the information, received from another researcher is true, is that Solomon G. Beckham, along with his wife Apsyllah Ann Milner moved to Texas between 1850, when they appeared on the Pike Co., GA Census and 1855 when their daughter Georgia Beckham was born in Texas. Then by 1865 they were in Louisiana where youngest son John was born. Then back to Panola Co., TX So, if Solomon G. Beckham of Early Co., GA was indeed their son he must have gone to Texas with them as a child and then returned to Georgia. This is not probable. When I have time I will go down to the university here to look at the Panola Co. TX 1860 and 1870 census films. CHILDREN OF SOLOMON G. BECKHAM AND APSYLLAH ANN MILNER: 1. Matthew Beckham, b. 1850, Pike Co., GA (in household of his father in Panola Co., TX 1880) 2. Solomon G. Beckham b. 1853, Pike Co, GA (subject to doubt expressed above) 3. Georgia Beckham, b. Panola Co., TX 1855. (in father's household in 1880) 4. John Beckham b. 1865, Louisiana. 3. You're right, but in this case I was right because I have now found that Solomon G. Beckham, son of James and Martha had a son named Solomon Cicero Beckham who died in Texas. And he, like the one in Early County, was born in 1853.
