My second great grandmother, Mary Ann Allen (wife of William Riley Jones, of the Jones family common to Pike County), may have been related to this Allen family. At this point, I do not know who Mary Ann Allen's parents or siblings were, but I do know that she lived from 1824 to December of 1865 and died in Pike County, and is buried at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, just south of Griffin, GA (it was Pike County at one time, and I think it's now Lamar County). I am descended from Mary Ann Allen and her husband, William Riley Jones, through their daughter, Martha Frances Jones (1850-1927) and her husband, William Taylor Harris (1847-1900), who were my Great Grandparents. If any of you know more about this Mary Ann Allen and any possible relation to this Allen family mentioned below, I would like to know about it.
