Davis Dies Wednesday Mrs. Etta Ogletree Davis, 78, died Wednesday evening at 6 o'clock at her home, Route C, Griffin. Mrs. Davis was born and reared in Spalding County. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ogletree, pioneer residents of the county. She was the widow of John A Davis and the mother of the late Doug Davis, pioneer in aviation in this section. Mrs. Davis had been ill for one year and in serious condition for three weeks. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. W.V. Ballard, Mrs. W.P. Ballard, both of Zebulon, Mrs. O.L. Carter of Griffin, Mrs. W.P. Reeves of Atlanta, and Mrs., Mary Reeves of Los Angeles, Calif.; five sons, J.P. Davis, H.H. Davis, both of Griffin, W.F. Davis of Zebulon, Col. P.F. Davis of Perrin Field, Texas, and J.C. Davis of Atlanta; one sister, Mrs. W. Oscar Futral of Griffin; one brother, Eugene F. Ogletree of Griffin, 52 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 o'clock at Mt. Gilead Church where the deceased held membership. The Rev. Herman Gresham and the Rev. Troy Hollingsworth will officiate. Interment will be in the Davis Family cemetery. Haisten Brothers, funeral directors, are in charge of arrangements. Grandsons of the deceased will serve as pallbearers.
