Having seen your information that you so kindly sent, I now have some questions...would you be able to answer these for me? First, you mentioned that some Pike Co researchers recently worked on the McLeroy line; were they McLeroys or descendents, or just some folks interested in the line? (just curious!) Second, I have seen similar information elsewhere on the Internet...fortunately; I say "fortunately" because it seems that none of my family seemed to be too interested in keeping up with any of the family history. My question is : what were your sources for this information..county history, family bibles, or xxxx ????? (is this information pretty reliable....please, no insult intended !!!) Next, the first individual you have listed in Generation 3 is listed as C.O. McLeroy....I don't think that I have seen this one listed before; is this person a legitimate descendent? Oh yes, male or female? Fourth, ( this is one that you can REALLY help with ) did any of the researchers discover why it is that Charles S McLeroy (generation 2, above) left Oglethorpe Co. GA and wound up in Florida, only for his descendents to return back northwards to Alabama? I am sorry to bother you with so many questions, but right now I have more questions than answers. FYI, I am from the Edward/Charles S/ John Henry line. John Henry is the son of Charles S, and was born in Jackson Co. FL about 1854. John Henry married Martha Elizabeth "Mat/Matt" McWaters. Among their children was James Edward McLeroy who married Lillie Bowling....my grandparents. John Henry and his family all lived in/around Cullman, Cullman Co., Alabama.
