Barbara, Thanks for the information on the maps. I'll have to investigate this! Janelle, Oh yes, I'm on several mailing lists, including the Carden mailing list at rootsweb, and no one on there has been able to find who he belongs to. Some feel, he has to belong to either a John Carden, or a David Carden in Pike Co., and seems as if there has to be a connection to the Andrew Jackson Carden, that he bought this land from 1839, but we just can't find any documentation! Yes, I have the regiment he was in during the Civil War, and there were two more Carden's listed for Hillard's Legion, and we thought this was a lead, but don't think they connect. I've posted to every message board I can think of, and I've joined every mailing list that I thought would help, but to no avail! I just don't know where else to look. Since I don't know who he belonged to, I don't know who his brothers or sisters were, or if he even had any. I was hoping when I got the marriage license it might have the parents names, but that didn't help. I'm just at a dead end, and I just hate to give up! Thanks for trying to help! Becky Carden
