    3. Lanny, Maybe I missed this earlier but is there a connection between James Pyron and William Pyron, who married Elizabeth Browning Allen? I'm descended from Josiah and Elizabeth Allen and looking for a timeframe in which Josiah died. If we had a date for that marriage, or knew if Elizabeth & William had children, those facts would help "guesstimate" his death date. Most of this information came from a black composition notebook in the DAR section at the Ga. Archives and was written by Mrs. John Dance (Frances Pyron) in the 1930's. She was the granddaughter of James Pyron and Elizabeth Cox. Recently I read that some materials at the Ga. Archives submitted by researchers was off limits or had been destroyed. These records may not be available anymore, but I do have a photocopy of them. > > James Pyron was born on Sept. 8, 1816 and died on June 6, 1867. He married Elizabeth Ann Cox on Aug. 3, 1840 or 1842 in Henry Co., Ga. She was born on April 20, 1823 in Lexington, Ga., the daughter of John Morris Cox and Mary Blanton Hawkins. Elizabeth died on April 21, 1910 in Kennesaw, Ga. > > Mrs. Dance writes that after the birth of several children, they moved to Dalton, Ga. where he was agent for the W and A Railroad. From there they moved to Acworth, Ga. In the 1850 census, they were enumerated at Dalton, in Murray Co., Ga. > > I have a copy of a picture of James Pyron which was owned by my great great grandmother Susan Pyron Harris, his sister.
