Hello Everyone, Does anyone on this list know the father of Abraham Stokes Allen, born 1811? I'm interested in whether he could be a child of Drewry Allen, and therefore an uncle of "my" Mary Ann Allen, b. 1824, daughter of Robert A. Allen. I do not have a list of Drewry's children, but would love to have that data if someone could share. Thanks, Janell > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Lynn B. Janell, The will of Drewry Allen names these children: Josiah, Clement, Stokes, Young D., and Nancy. It also names grandchildren with the surname "Pyron" which would imply to me a daughter who married a man named Pyron. Is son, Stokes, Abraham Stokes Allen? I don't know. The will names these children of Josiah Allen who was already deceased when the will was written: Pleasant, Young D., Barbara, Robert (probably yours) and Polly (probably my Mary Ann). Son, Clement, must have been deceased also, because the will names his wife, Nancy. The will also names these slaves: Leath, Ferebe, Mack, Hagar, Cheny, Sherwood, Big Hannah, Isaac, Caleb, Charlotte, Dido, Delt, Drury, Lack, Joe, John, Penny, Booker, Dinah, Winnie and Elleck.
