    3. The Pike County Journal Zebulon, Ga., Tuesday, August 12, 1890 Milner, Ga., Aug. 7, 1890 – On July 31st at the residence of W.E. Coleman on Main Street, Col. Henry Walker of Rome and Mrs. Lula Fambro were married. They boarded the northbound train a few minutes after their marriage for Rome where they will make their future home. On last Sunday evening Col. Ben Hill Wilden [Wilder?] and Miss Claudie English were married, Rev. Wash Oliver performed the ceremony. There has been three marriages in the last few days and rumor says that their [sic] will be several more soon. This is not to be wondered at as Milner has more pretty girls to the square inch than any town in Georgia. (Transcribed 10/7/02 Lynn Cunningham)
