    3. Pike County, Journal Zebulon, GA., Friday, February 6, 1891 A Pleasant Home Last Sunday in company with clever John H. Milner we spent the afternoon at the pleasant home of Mr. Josiah Allen. Mr. Allen has just moved out from Griffin, where he enjoyed a very lucrative position, with his brother-in-law, Mr. E.J. Flemister, and is now giving his personal attention to his large plantation. Mr. Allen’s home is presided over by his estimable wife, a queenly little lady who understands the art of making [a] home happy. Magnificent paintings, that would reflect credit upon the best efforts of a professional artist adorn the parlor walls and attest the taste of Mrs. Allen with the brush. Their home is blessed by two happy bright-eyed children and then there is grandma and grandpa, – the latter being the 16 year old youngster known everywhere as Judge Bob Allen. Upon the whole it is a pleasant, happy home, and we trust it may remain so for many happy years. (Transcribed 10/17/02 Lynn Cunningham)
