Pike County, Journal Zebulon, GA., Friday, November 20, 1891 Our town was made sad last Sunday morning by the sad news of the death of Mrs. Lizzie Chapman, wife of J.J. Chapman who lives near Lifseys store, this county. Mrs. Chapman had been married but a short while. She was a Christian lady and well thought of by all who knew her. Her remains were enterred [sp] at the family graveyard near here last Sunday afternoon at 4 oclock. She had a host of friends who sympathize with the bereaved husband and relatives in this their hour of bereavement. (Transcribed 10/21/02 Lynn Cunningham)
