    2. Lynn B. Cunningham
    3. Pike County, Journal Zebulon, GA., Friday, January 9, 1891 MARRIED Mr. James H. Banks and Miss Lena Lyles of this place, were married at the home of the bride’s parents on the evening of January 1st. Rev. S.R. England performed the ceremony. Only a few of the friends and relatives of the young people were invited to witness the nuptials. Among those from a distance we note Misses Eva and Eula Abercrombie of Upson County; Miss Ollie Stamps, Messrs. Jas. Stamps, Thos. Jackson, Sam Forest of Decatur, Ga.; Mr. Will McKenny of Barnesville. After the ceremony was performed a splendid supper was given the young people by the bride’s mother which is pronounced elegant by all who were present. On the day following, the bride and groom repaired to the home of Mr. B. Banks where a brilliant reception and dinner was given to special friends. The presents were numerous and pretty. The groom is a young carpenter whose ability as a high grade workman is fast coming into notice, and the bride is a young lady of many lovely characteristics. The Journal extends hearty congratulations. (Transcribed 10/17/02 Lynn Cunningham)
