Collier Passes Away Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Collier was born at Meansville, Ga., Pike County, June 10, 1844, was married to a Isaac Cuthbert Collier Dec. 21, 1865 and departed this life at an Atlanta Sanitarium Friday, Jan. 18, 1918 at four a.m. She was the daughter of John And Nancy Means, of Meansville, Ga., and was one of the family of 12 children. There being six sons and six daughters born to the Means family. She was the sister of the late Judge James W. Means, so long ordinary of Pike Co. Her Husband was the late Isaac C. Collier who proceeded her in death about 10 years ago, having passed away being stricken with paralysis on July 11, 1908. There was only one child born to them, Mr. J. C. Collier. of Barnesville, Ga. Her husband was a resident of Piedmont, Ga. all his life. After the death of her husband, she came to live with her son, where she resided the balance of her life. Out of the family of 12 Means children there are only 3 left: Mrs. M.A. Aldridge, John F. and B. A. Means. The funeral services were held at the First Methodist church on Saturday, January 19, at 2:30 p.m. and were conducted by her pastor, Rev. R. L. Wright her pastor was assisted by the Rev. Quillian, pastor of the Barnesville M. E. Church. Interment in the Collier family vault, beside the remains of her late husband.
