The Pike County Journal Zebulon, Ga., Friday, May 15, 1891 Oscar Harden It will be remembered that something more than a year ago this county was shocked by the intelligence that Oscar Harden had shot and killed his wife at Liberty Hill. Harden claimed that the killing was accidental, but the grand jury returned a true bill against him for murder. He surrendered to the officers and on yesterday, represented by Judge Hall of Griffin and Col. J.F. Redding of Barnesville he had a hearing before Judge Boynton on an application for bail. The bond was fixed at $3000 which was made and Harden was liberated. (Transcribed 10/10/02 Lynn Cunningham)
