I'm not sure if the newspaper was called the Journal or the Reporter--or exactly how far back it goes. The oldest are on microfilm--I think that includes the 1870's and can be seen at the library in Zebulon. The others are in large books at the courthouse. I believe someone told me those oldest papers didn't have obits the way we think of them. I wanted some for the Historical Society newsletter and I was informed there weren't any in those on microfilm. But I have not yet checked it out for myself. The various towns did have social columns in the early 1900's tho. And those occasionally mentioned weddings. Steph
