Becky, I do not know about the underground railroad, but there is a book called The Cauthen Family History by Maryline Cauthen Westenhaver that covers the Cauthen's from Pike Co. It was printed for the 3rd time in 1981 by Craftmaster Printers, Inc., Opelika, AL. Some of the Cauthen's that still live in Pike Co. (Milner area) let me borrow it several years ago. I just copied the sections that related to our Perkins line, so I do not have any information on your McLoed's. It was a very in depth book as far as covering the Cauthen line and could be helpful to you if you can get hold of a copy. Janet Perkins MS
