    1. Re: [GAPIKE] List Admin and Roll Call
    2. I have noticed the roll call now for the last three years but never noticed its value until now. Lynn thank you for reminding us and giving us an opportunity to post our sur names. I guess after doing countless hours of family research we tend to forget other researchers could use our knowledge and resources. We tend to forget we once needed help and of course we still do. So to all of you new and older family researchers if I can help by starting the new year off below you will find the names of families I am connected to. If I can help anyone just ask. I also have and unknown amount of headstone photos from various cemeteries in Pike County Names I am researching are. Childs, Marshall, Bishop,Ansley, Barrett,Bevil, Bevel,Calhoun, Hamrick, Hambrick, Harrison,Jackson, Kent, Salter are my primary names I am working on. Some of the above I have a lot of information some not so much. The above once lived in Pike Upson and Monroe. Jeremiah Childs settle Monroe 1823. Pike 1839 Upson 1856 up till his death after June 27,1885 I had two Elizabeth Marshall 4th, gen Grandmothers in Pike County at the same time. One born 1763 - 1856 the other born 1796 - 1860 both of them had husbands named John Marshall. Elizabeth Childs Marshall married John Marshall in Wilkinson County Georgia 1822 She moved to Monroe County Georgia before 1830.Pike 1839 with Jeremiah Childs Larry Childs

Notes for JARRETT ENOCH OXFORD: The Pike County Journal. Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, March 4, 1910 Shooting Near Molena Saturday Night Jack Oxford Seriously Shot By Will and Jim Cox Jack Oxford was shot by Will Cox near Molena on the home place of Rev. J.D. Carreker Saturday night. It was at first thought that Oxford would die but he was carried to Atlanta Monday for an operation and it has since been decided that one is not necessary and he is now said to be improving rapidly. It seems that there had been some difference between Louis Stribling, father-in-law of Oxford, and the two Coxs but that it had been adjusted. Will and Jim Cox went to Stribling's home Saturday night and soon occurred the shooting. He fired several shots, one of which only struck Oxford in the left side and two stray shots hit some of the Stribling children with no bad results. The coxes were placed in jail Monday and have not had any commitment trial awaiting the condition of Oxford. 1. [GAPIKE] Lavender, Brown and Perryman
    2. Camille Barmore
    3. My Mother's father was Richard Maury LAVENDER, born in 1877. On the 1880 Census in Pike county there is a James LAVENDER who has a son named Maurly and born in 1877. I am trying to prove this is my Richard Maury. I have a copy of Jame's will and he does not name his children. I have been researching the siblings of this Maurly and have found no researcher working on this family. I know James was a dentist and his wife's maiden name was Brown. James and Eliza were married in AL and on an earlier census showing them living in a Hotel with a James Campbell (also a Dentist). This Campbell shows up as an executor of James' will. The Perryman boys were shown on the 1880 census as nephews. I have copies of all the census and a list of burials in Pike County. I need the follow up to this will of 1883 and what was probated, where did the Mother and Children go? Deeds of land being sold might help. All help will be greatly appreciated. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Kendrick Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.georgia.counties.pike/1446/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm trying to find information on John F. Kendrick from Pike County, born in 1852. From my records, he had about 10 siblings, but I do not know anything else about him or his parents. Was he married, and if so, to whom and when? Did he, by any chance, come up missing around the years of mid 1860-1874? I am a descendent of a John Kendrick, born in Georgia in 1852. He moved to Alabama, I'm not sure when, and married Susan Edins (Eddins). They lived in Shelby County, Alabama, close to Birmingham. He and Susan had one daughter, Sarah, and one son, James Eli. While Susan was pregnant with Eli, John went missing and was never heard from again. We hit a brick wall everytime we try to find information about this man. Any help in finding information concerning him, if he could possibly be John Frank Kendrick from Pike County, would be greatly appreciated! Beverly
