I'm a distant cousin, descended from Robert Foster Crawford, son of Andrew and Mary B. Foster Crawford. My Crawford line went to Nacogdoches Co, TX from Pike. We have a website dedicated to Andrew and Mary's descendants at MyFamily.com if you would like an invite or if anyone else would. I have posted all the information that I have found on this line so far as well as several photos, etc. I would love to have the info on your line to add to our Andrew Crawford gedcom. Joy Crawford is a member of this website who descends from your Eddie Montgomery's brother, Clarence F. Crawford. I've been noticing the cemetery info but haven't paid much attention yet. Have very many of our Crawford line been found in Pike County cemeteries? Eleanor Colson

    3. I love the internet and this site. Lynn is great and everyone else sharing. Valerie, you may have missed the note I wrote last week. Gave what little Pennington info I have and said that it came from a Pennington site at Ancestry.com...done by P. Burris. Barbara S. 1. [GAPIKE] Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System
    2. Lynn B. Cunningham
    3. The National Parks Service has a wonderful website that you'll need to check out. Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System (both Union and Confederate) at: http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/soldiers.htm You can type in the name of your Civil War ancestor and click on "Submit Query" and get a report of that soldier. Then you can click on the soldiers name for more information, or for more information on his regiment, you can click on the regiment name and see a synopsis of it's history. Then if you scroll down to the bottom of that page you have two options: click on the first choice to see everyone in the regiment or click on the second choice to get an Excel, printable file, of everyone in the regiment. 3. Pike County Journal Zebulon, Ga., Tuesday, June 25, 1889 Home Affairs See the announcement of T.J. Blasingame for clerk in the announcement column. He is a competent one-armed man and wants the office. Georgia J. Fincher has been appointed postmaster at this place. He will take charge as soon as he makes his bond which will be $8,000.00 over and above homestead and indebtedness. The Zebulon baseballists beat Williamson again last Saturday. It looks like Williamson ought to be satisfied. We can take Judge Wells and Col. Dupree and best the Williamson crowd at a game of marbles. Mr. Ethna W. Cauthen and Miss Susie Pauline Dupree were married here in the Zebulon House parlor last Friday by Rev. Harry Wells. Our congratulations are tendered the young couple. Mr. Luther Blasingame and Miss Ida Miller of Upson county were married at the home of the bride near Thomaston on last Wednesday. Miss Sallie Blasingame attended the marriage and reports a nice time. She thinks there will be several others before it is through with. The bride and groom left the same day for Savannah on a bridal tour. Mr. S.J. Brown, one of the revenue men, was in town last week. He said that on Wednesday he took a still from the house of C.C. Middlebrooks, 2 miles north-east of Barnesville, and the lady of the house wore the brightest smiles imaginable when it was taken out. Mr. Middlebrooks did not know it was in the house!

    3. Lynn, No, I don't think I have that. This is not actually my direct line, but the Margaret McLeod, does connect with the Alexander McLeod Sr., who is believed to be the father of my Nancy McLeod, married to my O.H.R. or Owen N.K. Carden. Becky ----- Original Message ----- From: Lynn B. Do you have census records on the family? Lynn Becky wrote: Lynn, Thanks for the info. Now, in my McLeod info, I have a Thomas Connell, that was married to a Margaret McLeod. I'll have to check the dates on them, but I'm almost sure they were buried at the Hollonsville cemetery. I even have a picture of Thomas and Margaret. 1. Re: [GAPIKE] Hollonville Cemetery -- Hollonville, Pike Co., GA
    2. Lynn -- That was awesome. Thank you so much for posting that to the list. The name I am really hoping to find someday is Mary "Eliza" Elizabeth (Coggin) Pennington, wife of William Henry Pennington; daughter of John Silas & Sarah (Bowland) Coggin. She died sometime b/t the time the 1850 census was taken in Pike Co., GA and when her father wrote his will in Pike Co. on 17 June 1852. Instinct tells me she is buried at Coggin Cemetery, where her parents are buried, of which there is only a partial transcription available on the Pike Co., GA Gen Web site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gapike/cem049.htm This transcription is currently not part of the Pike Co., GA Archives. Surnames found at Coggin Cemetery include: Scott, Coggin, Shipp, Jackson, Peugh, Fincher, Nelson -- many of the folks are kin to those buried at Hollonville Cemetery. If someone has additional information on Coggin Cemetery, PLEASE post it to this list so that it can be added to the partial on-line survey.
