Valerie unfortunately no, there are no plans to do that as the county mailing lists are maintained by rootsweb and it is too much of a problem trying to sync up with so many different county mailing lists. These daily uploads lists now can be subscribed by states but not by county as these are simply pulled from the usgwarchives server statistics for what has been uploaded or modified in each state daily. http://www.usgwarchives.net/mailman/listinfo Debra Crosby -----Original Message----- From: gapike-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:gapike-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of VCJFreeman@aol.com Sent: Thursday, July 01, 2010 4:41 AM To: gapike@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [GAPIKE] A List for Daily Uploads to the GenWeb Archives how awesome! There were many white settlers in various counties before the Indian lands were distributed by the land lottery. You can find some records to support it. I cannot answer the question for pike. But I know this for Jasper, Bibb and Macon Counties. Larry Childs</HTML>

Note page 856 that list original settlers, all the people on this list did not necessarily draw land in the lottery. My William Ellis did not draw in the lottery he was the Surveyor who surveyed the 3rd dist of what was to become Henry county in 1821 he purchased his land from a lottery winner.
There is a John Marshal that appears to have drawn South Half of lot 168 in the 9th dist William Hunt drew lot 80 in the 10th dist. land lots were 202 1/2 acres

Try checking the land lotteries http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/galand.htm Monroe was divided in the 1821 land lottery http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/pike/deeds.html If they drew land in the lotteries, it listed their county of residence. Thanks, Lynn! I have a ton on these families if anyone is interested. My husband is a descendant of the Hardy, Nixon, & Coggin families, so the folks mentioned in the marriage announcement are cousins. BTW - I have never been able to "prove" the middle names of Harrison H. Nixon and Elvira H. Elmore. The only time I have seen them written was in a family history written by a descendant of Alice Pearl (Nixon) Horton, sister of Lucy Amy (Nixon) Moody.
