    3. The Pike County Journal. Zebulon, Pike Co., Ga., Friday March 1, 1895 J.F. Wilder Dead Jas. F. Wilder died at his home in Griffin last Sunday of fever. He had been ill with fever for several weeks. His body was brought to Zebulon on Monday for interment. The funeral sermon was preached to an immense congregation at the Baptist church by Rev. C.W. Oliver. Mr. Wilder was operating a blacksmith shop in Griffin at the time of his death. He was a former citizen of this place. While living here he won a warm place in the hearts of the people by his gentlemanly conduct and especially by his devotion to the sick. He was a good nurse and never tired of sitting patiently by the bedside of a sufferer. The death of such a man as Mr. Wilder is a great loss to any community. He leaves an invalid wife and five children. They will be helped along in life, however, by $2000 insurance which Mr. Wilder was prudent enough to carry on his life. To the bereaved relatives, The Journal extends heartiest sympathy. (Transcribed 11/2/02 Lynn Cunningham) Note: At East View Cemetery, Zebulon, Georgia: James F. Wilder, b. 16 Feb 1859, d. 24 Feb 1895

    1. Re: [GAPIKE] More Than One John Green in Pike Co, GA

    3. Arthur, Decided to change the subject as we've wandered off from Horn & Pennington. I've got a number of John Greens in my file. If any of these ring a bell, sing out. There are Greens I've found on Pike Co census records that I just know are related to my Green line, but I don't know exactly how: 1. John Green m Sabray Lee, daughter of John Lee, Esq & Mary Bryan from VA & NC. Have this information in my file because John & Mary Bryan Lee had a son, Edward, whose descendants ended up in Butler Co, AL mixed in with the Burketts - one of my Butler Co, AL families. 2. John D. Green b 25 Jun 1885 married Mrs. Pritchard in 1914. Son of #3 3. John E. Green (18 Aug 1828 Pike Co, GA - 6 Aug 1908 Minden, Webster Parish, LA) who married Hattie Griffin. Son of Burwell Green & Elizabeth (Slayton) Slayden 4. John F. Green b abt 1847 Pike Co, GA. Son of Hartford Green & Nancy Ellis. Found Hartford on the 1840, 50 & 60 Pike Co census & figure he's related somehow to my Greens. 5. John F. Green b Nov 1859 GA to Union D. Green & Martha E. T. ---. Got these off 1860 Pike Co Census and also assume they're related somehow to my Greens. 6. John T. Green son of William Appling (Pappy) Green & Emily Ezell who married in 1860 in Pike Co, GA. 7. John T. Green b 1831 GA son of Bowling Green & Caroline Matilda Ezell?. 8. John T. Green (1859 - 1935 Bienville Parish, LA) who married Laura Emma Burkett 14 Jul 1886 in Bienville Parish, LA 9. John U. (Union?) Green b 1857 GA to Richard Green & Parthenia -----. Got these Greens off the 1860 Pike Co Census and also think they relate to my Greens but don't know how. Cauthen in the Lamar County cemetery records that died on 24 Dec 1894, and was buried in the Milner Cemetery, but I was unsure, so I did not include it as a note. The record was as follows: Cauthen, Thomas J., b. 12 Sept 1859, d. 24 Dec 1894 Cauthen, Emma Huddleston, b. 30 Nov 1864, d. 27 July 1904 Have you heard of this Thomas?
