I think that he may have owned my ancestors (Samuel & Hariett Curtis) at some point during the mid 1800's but I am not sure. I did manage to find an appraisal of his estate from 1852 but none of my ancestors were listed as his property. If anyone has any additional info or know where I could get some, I'd greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you

I need to attach the floppy drive to my computer and load them up as to where I can see just what I do have. I just find it very hard not to believe that Isaac Jackson born Virginia was not a brother to some of the Pike and Upson Jacksons. I am working on this now trying to find Connections. As I have told you I have a good bit of work on Green W. Jackson. I have thought he was connected to Isaac when I was working on the Jackson lineage. He apparenty is not . It is strange that John Green Jackson son of Isaac Jackson with all the other Green Jackson's have to be connected in some way that I have not found any connection. Long sentence. Your miles could be a brother to Isaac . Isaac was born about 1788. Robert 1784, Henry 1783 if I am correct. So now we have a Miles Green in the mix. I have found no positive connection to the three now four above. Maybe Your Miles is the father of the above Isaac and Henry came from Hancock County and moved to Upson about 1828 -1833 Henry died 1833 and Isaac and Robert were ex, to his estate. Robert came from Putnam which bordered Hancock County so the possibility still remains. He is in Upson by 1833. And now I here you have an Hancock County connection. I will save your email and if I do stumble into something I will let you know if my memory do not forget. Any help from anyone is welcome. What year was your GreenMiles Jackson Born and where. Larry

    2. I have one Sims in my files on this computer. Walter Sims born Ala. who married Sallie America Roquemore. The Hamrick in my line married Jeremiah J. Hamrick born 1815 married Hannah Jane Childs in Upson County. Jeremiah had a Brother named James born abt. 1813 but I do not have any information on him. It could be possible this is the James You have mentioned. I had heard that Jeremiah and Hannah had attended the Church and are supposed to be on the rolls there as well. I have not seen anything to support it. Jeremiah and James father was John Hamrick mother Nancy Todd if they are the same one. Thank you for the reply. If this is Your James and you have anything else I would like to know. Larry Childs

There is an underline between the 01 and 02 which you can't see because the link is underlined.) Scroll down to July 20, 2001. The articles were spread over several weeks. James was born in 1838 in Meriwether (which is adjacent to Pike), moved to Troup, then to Carroll County, GA. Sounds like he may have been the son of this James and Vianna Sims Hamrick. Hope this helps. If anyone has trouble with the link, contact me privately at [email protected] Judy K in Newnan, GA

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hd.2ADE/863.1 Message Board Post: The oldest daughter of Martin and Elizabeth Sims was named Vianna Sims b 8 Feb 1808 in Oglethorpe Co. Martin and Elizabeth Sims moved to Pike County GA about 1822 when Martin received land through a lottery drawing. Vianna Sims married James M. Hamrick on Jan 16, 1834 in Pike Co, GA. I believe they were listed in the membership rolls for the original Flat Rock Baptist Church in Hollonville. Martin Sims donated the original 2 acres of land including a creek for baptizing in 1827. The name was called "The Church at Flat Rock" in the church minutes. It was later named "Shoal Creek Baptist Church" in the 1830's. These minutes were transcribed from the original photo copies by Bill Russell and should be found on the Pike Co. GA website. I have not traced the Hamricks forward but I think they moved a county or two west of Pike by the 1850 census. I'm a direct descendant of Martin and Elizabeth Sims. I've also seen the same variations in spelling that you have listed above. Hope this helps!
