Carol, this is in reply to your request for subscribers to post their lines for the benefit of new subscribers. This information came from the book "Alderman's in America" by William Alderman Parker. It is huge and has lots and lots of information on the Newtons. The book says that Four Newton brothers, who may have come from Massachusetts, settled near Newton's Cross Roads in New Hanover County, NC about 1750. They were Samuel, Jacob, George and Isaac. Here's what I have on George's family. 1-- George Newton RS (1740-1810) sp-Nancy Ann Moore ( -1830) 2-- Samuel Newton (1764-1833) sp-Nancy Ann Brock (1770-1858) 2-- James Newton (1766) sp-Susan Pigford 2-- George Newton (1768) sp-Mary Robinson 2-- Isaac Newton (1770-1825) sp-Elizabeth Alderman (1778-1848) 2-- Nancy Ann Newton (1778) sp-Daniel Alderman (1774-1850) 2-- Reuben Newton (1774) sp-Margaret Bordeaux 2-- Susan Newton (1776) sp-Thomas Alderman (1777-1840) 2-- Rachel Newton (1779) sp-Jacob Straughan 2-- Catherine Newton (1782) I am descended from Isaac Newton and Elizabeth Alderman. I have been unable to identify the parents of George Newton or Nancy and Moore. Any help would be welcome. Bill
