    2. Amen and Amen. I want to go back and read Pam's email again. She mention having Birth Cert with the name D... something. I didn't know they issued Birth Cert back then. I have hard enough time finding death certs. My gr gr grandpapa owned slaves and every slave born carried his name. There is also a town named Woulard's Bend, because there were so many blacks that carried his name. Among the slaves there were many mulattos , but there was never birth certs with the Woulard name any where. My gr gr grandpapa had many Woulard relatives who worked together overseers, sons, cousins, brothers, nephews and even his own papap with his brothers. My gr gr grandpapa owned the land but all the other were active and around so it would have been hard to pen who the papa was. I don't think it would be fair to say my gr gr grandpap's name should have been on all the birth's cert. of the mullatos. I will have to recheck, but I don't think I have any birth certs. during the slave period, just death's and most of that information in written in the Bibles and letters and takes from the toomstones. Anyone know when Birth Certs. were first given out? I have found so many of the Court Houses have been burnt down that some information is all most impossible to find. Thanks for any help. Sandra
