    1. [GAMUSCOGEE] Vienna now New Hope, Al.-J. C. Drake papa of three of Johnson's gang.
    2. I have quite abit of researching to go, I am trying to see if J. C Drakes sons who rode with the Johnson's Gang and if the Johnson Gang was connected to Maj- General Nathan Bedford Forrest. This should tie in with Pamela Kyle's ancestors. It appears there are quite a few of male Drakes including J. C. If and I say if. until I research further and see if the Johnson's gang and Maj-Gen Nathan Bedford Forrest were close in any wayand they may have joined the KKK wih Maj.-Gen Nathan Bedford Forrest. Three of J. C Drake's sons were in Johnson's gang. Pam will have to let me know, if she is interested in her ancestors, if this is the J. C Drake she is talking about. Some where in the story there is a Drake Cove mentioned. I will have to go back and mark the place. The Mulattos that were born into my Woulard Family in the early to mid 1800s were born to women who were already married and they listed their husband's name and the black young women that had mulatto children kept their family name and since most if not all the blacks carried my gr gr grandpapa's name , it was even more confusing. So the Stories go. Pamela, can you please tell me the birth date of your grandmother. I would like to compare her age against J. C. Drake, it appears he was a mature man in 1864 already having grown sons. Maybe J.C.D. was older when she was born. I am probably older than you and my grandmother was born in 1886. Not impossible , but he would begetting older when my grandmother came along. I am doing this research for myself and because of your email about the Russell County Herritage Book. Let me know , Pamela, if you are interested in what I find.
