    3. Patricia, It has always been my understanding that, in Georgia, a given county only provides copies of vital records that were created in that county. (I can't imagine being able to walk into the Chattahoochee Co. Probate Court and acquire a vital record from Bartow Co. or elsewhere.) However, this may have changed, or may not be the case in the larger counties - I suggest you contact someone with the Probate Court and inquire (these are for Muscogee Co.): Vital Records Office 100 Tenth Street Columbus, GA 31901-2617 (706) 653-4331 (Birth records:) Health Department 2100 Comer Avenue Columbus, GA 31904 (706)321-6300 I'd be interested to know what you're able to learn.
