I am looking for any information on Thomas E. Blanchard Born 1840,died 1917, on a plantation in near Ellerslie, Georgia. His first Job was in J. W. Pease's Book Store. Mercer Blanchard is lised in his family. Mercer Blanchard Firsrt Lieutenant,CSA Co B, 37rh Georgia Reg. Mr. Thomas E. Blanchard was married to Sarah E. MacDougald. They had no children, they had an adpoted niece that died. Also in his family Dr. Joel Uriah McDuffie Blanchard, thr beloved " Dr. Mac." Blanchard., surgeon in the Congederae Army and physician to many in Columbus. I am not related to the Blanchards. I found a picture of Thomas E. Blanchard, he is the image of my son. In the Etta W, Blanchard Book there is a picture of Thomas E. Blanchard. It looks like my son posed for the picture.. The picture of Mr. Blanchard doesn't favor my son , he looks like my son. Hair , eyes, nose, mouth and face right on down to the little beard around his mouth. Mr. Blanchard has the same expression in his eyes as my son. Hie eyebrows and even the way my son wore his hair years ago. I would like to know if anyone has any other pictures of Thomas E. Blanchard so I could see if it's just this picture that looks like he and my son both sat for this picture. The pictures I have of my son is laughing or at least a smile. The picture of Mr. Blanchard is serious. Not only in the picture but in real life my son looks like this picture of Mr. Blanchard. It's an odd felling to look at a picture of a man born in 1840 and see your son. Thanks for any help. Sandra
