Sandra, According to my map of land lots and districts, Muscogee currently encompasses all or part of the following Georgia Militia Districts: GMD #675 (Upatoie, Land Districts 10 & 17) - far eastern GMD #772 (Nances, Land Districts 8 & 19) - northwestern GMD #774 (Steam Mill, Land District 18) - west of Upatoie GMD #821 (Bozeman, Land District 7) - southern GMD #1128 (Edwards, Land District 9) - southeastern The Coweta Reserve is also marked, east of Columbus. "Pool's or 8th District" probably corresponds to Land District 8 (in #772 above). Halloca District (east of Edwards #1128) was in a part of Muscogee Co. that became Chattahoochee Co. on 13 FEB 1854. Georgia Militia Districts listed on the 1857 tax list for Chattahoochee Co. include: GMD #678 GMD #787 [rural, served by Cusseta Post Office, 1860] GMD #1104 GMD #1106 GMD #1107 [GMD #1108 - probably Halloca District] GMD #1153 Some of the above would have been in Marion County in 1850. I don't think I have a map showing where these are in Chattahoochee Co. I do have a highway map showing the GMD's in Marion County, and also in Talbot County; the southwest corner of that county (containing Box Springs community) is GMD #688. Hope this helps.
