He was tied with Auburn, College in Auburn Alabama. He sold his rights to Coke a Cola to bussiness men in Atlanta to make Coke -a Cola what it is today. But Dr. Pemberton was not one of Atlanta's own as "City Confidential" on A&E just said. Tuesday, July 14, City Confidentian on A &E, just claimed Dr. Pemberton as Atlanta's OWN, and this is simply not true and should be corrected. We have the two homes Dr. Pemberton lived in and we also have him and his grave here in Linwood Cemetery. How would we go about to correcting this. Dr. Pemberton is someone's ancestor but he did not belong to Atlanta, he is Columbus , Georgia , Muscogee's own. Hi Sandra, I think its wonderful you can claim Dr Pemberton as an ancestor. He was very famous and I wish he hadn't sold his right so quickly. That is the way it happens some times in hard times. In my collection of Art, I have a set of Commemorative Limited edition signed and numbered prints By Rene Faure of Dr Pemberton , Asa Candler, and Frank Robinson who was the artist that created the graphic designs. I also have a copy of a newsprint page of an advertisement. If you would like to see those I can send you a photo of them by email. First, get your immunization together. Find anything you can find on and off-line. http://www.historiccolumbus.com/main.cfm?SID=17 http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/GACOLcoke.html Second, see if "City Confidential" has a web site or way to contact them. Send them your "immunization" and don't forget to include either your family history. Bad news type thing. . . company history can change once an "old" administration passes. It doesn't make sense, when the truth makes a better story. I worked for a very large insurance company that has re-written history after the original CEO died. My husbands family was a key force in the companies beginning, among other major changes.
