Over what time period did it exist? Was there a listing of members? Any information appreciated.
The oldest "Female Orphans Asylum" was started in 1840 by the women from St. Luke's Methodist Church. Today it is known as The Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home, Inc. Their site: http://www.twincedars.org/pages/aeshome.html Also try archives at Columbus State University. As they have vertical files on the home (I'm not saying it contains the info you need. . . but maybe a clue.) http://archives.colstate.edu/verticalfiles/generalvertical.shtml kemis ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] Surnames: Kelly, Kelley, Hudson, King Seeking information on the Muscogee Female Orphans Asylum.
