You may want to give the list your grandparents names, some have books that may have limited info of Columbus. The following is a link to the "Ask a Librarian" section of the Chattahoochee Valley Regional Library system. It is called that because they also include some surrounding counties other than Muscogee County. This is becoming a common practice to include the counties in other things - development, boy scouts, and etc. Whenever writing to the library (or any other source), please do not ask them to do your family history. They have gotten blank family trees (and many other like requests) and have been ask to fill in everything they could find. They can point you in a direction. They can get you limited info. But they can not physically do all of your research. If they had the time to do in-depth research they would be working on their own. http://www.thecolumbuslibrary.org/commentform.html kemis Does anyone have any info on schools in Columbus in the 1880's and 1890's? My grandparents were born in Columbus in 1873 and 1876 and so would have been in school in that time period. Are there any records extant from that period? School records, yearbooks, school publications etc. - would the library have any of this? Any info would be appreciated. Pat
