Frazier, and William Glaze as Trustees 178 178...Georgia Laws, 1838, Section 13 page 9 Shoals Academy was located 2 1/2 miles from Ellerslie, Georgia, Harris County., but I do not know which way. Does anyone know of the Shoals Academy? My gr gr grandpapa Green Berry Waldrop was a Trustee. (Shoals Academy 1838)The 1840 Census has my gr gr grandpapa living in Hamilton, Georgia. He was also Minister of the Bethel Baptist Church on Flat Rock Road, Columbus, Ga. It was first in Midland, Georgia, then changed to Muscogee County. Rev, G. B. Waldrop was Minister of Bethel Baptist from 1832 until 1839, the Rev. Willis was the Minister for years. Rev, Green Berry Waldrop join the Bethel Baptist Church in 1832 by letter from Rehoboth Baptist Church in Cataula, Georgia. Mr. Cary Willis was also on the Presbytery, Viz: James Perryman, Wm. Henderson G. B. Waldrop, Cary Willis, Anderson Smith, and Robert Fleming. Brother and Sister McKinley were dismissed by letter. (November 17, 1839) Rev. Grandberry, Hiram McCullers, Wills, Evensen were delegates to the Columbus Georgia Association. (Rehoboth was located about one and a quarter miles below Cataula, Georgia on March 10, 1839. The Church is now known as the Rock and was moved many years back . The Rehoboth Church was located down by the old Cemetery a few miles on the highway.)
