Richard was my Great-Great grandfather. According to my grandfather, his middle name was Ebenezer, but we have not yet been able to confirm that. All census records indicate that Richard was born in Georgia, but again, we have no confirmation of that. Richard E., and his wife Elizabeth (no maiden name known at this time) are shown on the 1870 census in Cave Spring, Floyd County, Georgia, with Richard being 42 years old. Three of their children, Susan V (Susan Virginia), John B (John Blackstone) and William are also listed. Between the 1870 & 1880 censuses, Richard and his family migrated to Mississippi and by 1880 are listed in Scott County, Mississippi with an additional child, G.W. (George Washington) being shown as born in Tennessee. We also believe that Richard and Elizabeth are shown on the 1860 census in Chatahoochee County, but we have no verifiction that this is them. We also believe that Richard served with the CSA, and we are working to determine and confirm his service. Any information regarding Richard would be most appreciated. It is also probable that Richard was a member of a Primitive Baptist congregation, as his son and grandson were of that belief. Thanks in advance.
