While researching I found there is a tie to Muscogee County in this story. While in the prison camp at Milledgeville, Leo Frank's throat was slashed by an inmate from Columbus named Creen. Frank survived the throat slashing and was hung about a month later in Frey's Gin, in Marietta. I read where Franks shirt was covered in blood from the reopening of this wound when he was hung.
