    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: CLAPP Classification: Lookup Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Xd.2ADE/1493 Message Board Post: The Clapp's Factory Cemetery Preservation League met in Columbus on 07 AUG 2004 to discuss a proposed Master Plan for rescuing the Clapp's Factory Cemetery in Muscogee County. The plan (as modified) was adopted. Our next major objective is to have a formal archaeological survey of the cemetery conducted. The new fiscal year for the group begins on September 1. We have set the membership / donation levels as follows: Individual $15 Household $25 Friend $50 Caretaker $100 Advocate $250 Benefactor $500 Champion $1000 Benefits of membership include a subscription to our quarterly publication, the "Clapp's Factory Chronicle." Your membership dues and donations help defray the cost of publicizing our project and carrying out our efforts to have the cemetery (possibly the second-oldest cemetery in Columbus) formally surveyed, protected and improved, and to research and publish about the historic significance of Clapp's Factory, likely the first textile operation in the entire Chattahoochee Valley. We need your support and involvement. Please consider joining - to do so, make your check payable to the CFCPL and send to: CFCPL P O Box 4385 Columbus, GA 31914-0835 Or for further information, contact Kemis Massey at (706) 327-5422. We are also interested in obtaining copies of any documents, stories, photos, or family records that pertain to the Clapp's Factory mill and related operations, the village, or the cemetery. Thanks to everyone for your continued encouragement and support of our project. John Mallory Land President-elect, CFCPL McKinney, TX [email protected]
