The funeral will take place from the house at 9 o’clock this morning. It will be conducted by Rev. J. W. HOWARD. The interment will be at Clapp’s factory.” [From the "Columbus, Georgia, Enquirer-Sun" newspaper, Saturday morning, 16 JUL 1899, p. 5.] I am interested in learning more about the background and family of William and Maggie - who was her husband? In 1900, there was an L. C. JARRETT residing at 2504 First Avenue in Columbus and no Maggie STEVENS/STEPHENS listed in the city directory. Also, are they kin to Wade H. STEPHENS, who m. 1878 in Muscogee Co. to Mrs. Abigail (NEWSOME) HEATHCOCK (b. 1848), daughter of John & Telitha (PIKE) NEWSOME? Their son (Abigail's brother) Philip Oscar NEWSOME m. 1884 in Russell Co, AL, to Carrie Annie JARRETT - is she kin to L. C. JARRETT? John & Telitha, as well as other NEWSOME family members, are buried at Clapp's Factory. Wade and Abigail had one known child, Mary Telitha STEPHENS, who m1. MOTE, m2. SAYERS.
