Br. 1900 had two sisters named Ila Belle and Bessie. I have found some information but I have my reservations about them being accurate on my part. He married Thelma F. Sanford and they had two children Clarence Rudolph ( my father) and Lamar, Lamar was killed ,when he was hit by a truck, at the age of 3 in Columbus Ga abt. 1933. My Grandparents divorced in the 30's and my Father lived in Columbus Ga. with Ila Belle, she was married to Arthur Nolan who owned a furniture store, Nolan and Son, in Columbus. In the 1930 US Census they are listed as follows: Homer Wilkinson- 29 - not Wilkerson as it should be. Thelma Wilkinson- 22 Rudolph Wilkinson- 6 years Lamar Wilkinson- 1 month Edward Sanford- Brother in Law is also listed in the houshold The Nolans are listed as follows: Arthur Nolan Ila Nolan Nila Nolan Preston Nolan I know that Uncle Preston married Mary Alice Cooper and had 4 children twin daughters Patricia and Jeanette, daughter Jean and son Randy. All the families lived on the same block along with the Nolan and Son Furniture store My Father died in 83' and Granddaddy died in the 73' and is buried at Pine Hill Cemetary in Columbus, my Grandmother remarried, lived in California and died in 62' so as you see I have no living source of information. I would like anyone who may have any information on these relatives to contact me at crkwilts@aol.com. You never know who or what might jog someone's memory. Thank you, Carol Wilkerson Russo crkwilts@aol.com
I cannot find my great grandpa after about 1902. He was in Columbus then had just gotten his indigent Confederate Pension approved. I could not find him in the 1910 census. John Duke born 1844 GA Much thanks, Robert Duke

Huling, sister of the bride, Mr. J.F. Taylor was married to Miss Annie Bivins Walker. The ceremony was performed in a very impressive manner by the Rev. Mr. Brown of Waverly Hall. At 8:30 oclock in the morning a company of relatives of the contracting parties and a few invited friends assembled to witness the marriage. At the appointed hour the bride, leaning on the arm of the groom, entered the room, which was full of expectant guests. The bride was elegantly costumed as befitting the occasion. The groom, attired in the regulation suit, looked the noble gentleman he is. Mr. Taylor is a resident of Columbus, and a fine businessman, and his many gentlemanly traits have won many friends in a business and social way. Miss Walker was reared in Talbot County, and is a charming and accomplished young woman, and on account of her sweet and womanly disposition was very popular. Their many friends wish them every happiness through life. Immediately after the marriage they left for Birmingham and other points to visit relatives, after which they will return to Columbus, where they will be at home to their friends on East Highlands. *Note the abbreviation ult. stands for Ultimate meaning the previous month. Louis F. Girrard The death of this estimable gentleman deprives Columbus of a distinguished citizen. His going away is a distinctive shock to thousands in this section of the state. To his chosen profession the law he gave his chief study, and in it he excelled. The short time devoted to serving the state in the general assembly stamped him as one of Georgias gifted sons and left assurance, had his tastes been in that direction, that his ability was equal to any position in the gift of the people. With mournful pleasure we record ourselves among the number of the personally bereaved and transmit to the stricken home our sincere sympathy. I'm looking for the grave of my ggrandfather, James Rosier. My mother had some old notes that said he was buried at Flat Rock Creek, GA (near Columbus). Does anyone know where this is? I did find the phone number for a church that sounded similar, but have been unable to reach them (it rings and nobody ever answers). Any help would be appreciated. Diane Lowe

I would love to have pictures that show different things from the area. If you have any pictures you can e mail me and let me use for the site I would really appreciate it. There are so many things we remember and would love to see, but can't because they just aren't around any more. I love Now and Then pictures. We have lost so many Schools, Churches, Houses, favorite hangouts, restaurants, etc. through the years. I let Columbus Sqare Mall go without taking pictures and I don't want that to happen again! I tried to make up for that with Kinnett's Dairy and the old Three Arts. Pictures are an important part of my site. I would love to post and share them with everyone so please e mail me and help keep part of our local history and memories alive!
