Failing in health and therefore being unable to continue his work here he decided best to return to Columbus where he could engage in lighter employment. His health, however, continued to grow worse and on Friday succumbed to Brights disease. He was a man of 44 years of age and a gentleman who was held in high esteem by all who knew him. His exemplary character, honest and frank dealings with all and his affable disposition endeared him in the estimation of those with whom he came in contact. Besides his wife, Mr. Hobbs is survived by one son, Douglas; three brothers, Messrs. G.T., of Columbus; James, of LaGrange, and Virgil, of this county; two sisters, Mrs. C.J. This was Spam that some how managed to get through Rootsweb's system. Rarely does this happen. I apologize for it. It came to the Mailing List by way of the Muscogee Message Boards --- but Rootsweb quickly removed the message from there. Rootsweb works very hard to prevent this sort of thing. Jones Perryman for eight years Solicitor- General of the Chattahoochee Circuit, will this week move his law offices to Talbotton and that on the first of next month, the Perrymans will move their residence there. Mr. Perryman has a wide acquaintance and many friends throughout the judicial circuit who will be interested in his new move. Both he and Mrs. Perryman have many friends here who will regret that they are to leave Columbus, and these will glad to know that it is their announced intention to visit Columbus frequently. Mr. Perryman, like his father and grandfather before him has had an illustrious public career serving as Mayor of Talbotton, member of the state legislature, where as Head of the large Penitentiary Committee he was instrumental in bringing about far-reaching reforms in the state penal system, and as Solicitor- General for two four-year terms. He is a man of considerable ability and has well justified the friendship that so many have imposed in him. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
