    3. There are so many wonderful items being donated.... so be sure to take a look. And remember you may have something in your file that is just the thing someone else has needed. Review some of your materials -- you may have some things that you'd forgotten you even had. I've found that typing up something will also help me "grasp" something that I may have missed earlier. The GA Archives Uploads page has been updated to reflect the uploads of 23 May thru 29 May 2004. You can view the updated page at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ga/gauploads.html To become a submitter, click here: http://www.genrecords.org Many thanks to all our submitters.

    1. PROVIDENCE CHURCH & CEMETERY - ST. MARY'S ROAD - COLUMBUS, GA
    2. Maureen
    3. Have returned from a visit to Providence Church & Cemetery and learned that they are trying to restore the cemetery and put together a church history of any surviving records. The church was established about 1797. Many of the early records were lost during the transition from Providence Freewill Baptist Church to its present day. During this time, the cemetery has many grave sites, with not so many headstones. A survey was done in the 1980's, however, many of the stones are now missing. They are working to restore the cemetery, and need help from surviving family members to help locate and identify loved ones buried there. If you can help to put together the church history and/or identify some of the graves, please be in touch with the church historian, Reba Rae. Her e-mail address is: rebarae@bellsouth.net She would really appreciate any assistance that she can get to help make her job easier. As for myself, I have lots of family buried there, Driver, Hughes, Tomblin, with many extended family members. Go to the Muscogee County, GA website and click on Providence Cemetery and you will find the cemetery index of persons buried there. And find that there are many not named. I do hope that some of you reading this will be able to assist. Thanks for your help. Maureen

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Xd.2ADE/377.389 Message Board Post: I read with interest your inquiry concerning a Harry Gifford Harbuck. I had a great aunt, Evelyn Holt, who lived in Columbus, Georgia, and who married someone whose last name was Harbuck. She was born in 1899 in Rhode Island and moved with her family to Columbus, GA around 1915. I do not have information about the date of her marriage to a Mr. Harbuck. She was a musician, and so was he. They provided background music for silent movies in Columbus and later moved to Birmingham, Alabama. Unfortunately, there was a divorce, and my great aunt returned to Columbus before I was born in 1940. She had no children, never remarried, and died in Columbus in 1987. I would like very much to have more information about the individual named Harbuck who married my great aunt. Please email me if you think there may be a connection between Harry Gifford Harbuck and the individual named Harbuck who married my great aunt. Elizabeth Johnson Ragsdale
