For anyone that is interested, there will be a get-together of descendants of JOSEPH and MAHALA MCMURRAY HENDERSON on Saturday, October 27, 2001 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Whitfield County, Dalton, GA. Bring a covered dish and your cameras. Dinner will be around 1 PM. This get-together is occasioned by the visit to our fair city of Peter and Maureen Furmidge Henderson. Peter is the son of Jesse Francis Henderson, grandson of William H. Henderson and greatgrandson of John David and Mary Elizabeth McCune Henderson. Jesse (Peter's father) disappeared during World War I and was thought to be dead. However, he fell in love with and married a young lady in England by the name of Gertrude Sanders and stayed there. After his parents death, Peter began searching for his American family with very little to go on, but he did find us and made his first visit here in 1981. We hope that everyone connected with the family will stop by this Saturday and say hello to Peter ! and Maureen and any of the rest of us that they don't know.
