Gov. Brown in his zealousness to protect Georgia and his people ordered a military census of all males - children & adults. These records included: name, age in yrs and months, whether they owned a rifle/shotgun; whether they owned a horse/tack. This is handwritten at the top of the sheet: Gov. Joe E. Browns Census of 1864. (Senatorial Census) Act of 14 Dec. 1863 to Reorganize the Militia of the St. of Ga. Enrollment of Present Militia Company District (WHATEVER THE GMD was ) I know this microfilm is at the Washington Memorial Library in Macon....and probably at many other libraries. IF anyone could help us out by typing up a portion (even one military district) that would be a great help! AND if you can't type, but would be able to make copies from the microfilm, I'm sure we could get some typists! This material has been published in a book, but the book does not contain ALL the infor that is on the film, and the book is also copyrighted.
