We are one! We are Native American. We are USA! Actually, we are just a part of history that most want to forget or to chose to. Let's get back to who we are? http://community.webtv.net/catfish_corky/MYFAMILY http://community.webtv.net/catfish_corky/Picture --WebTV-Mail-29318-736 Content-Disposition: Inline Content-Type: Message/RFC822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Received: from smtpin-102-4.bryant.webtv.net (209.240.198.55) by storefull-144.iap.bryant.webtv.net with WTV-SMTP; Fri, 5 Oct 2001 16:14:29 -0700 (PDT) Received: by smtpin-102-4.bryant.webtv.net (WebTV_Postfix+sws) id D53EF13A; Fri, 5 Oct 2001 16:14:29 -0700 (PDT) Delivered-To: catfish_corky@webtv.net Received: from lists2.rootsweb.com (lists2.rootsweb.com [63.92.80.32]) by smtpin-102-4.bryant.webtv.net (WebTV_Postfix+sws) with ESMTP id 2A46911C; Fri, 5 Oct 2001 16:14:29 -0700 (PDT) Received: (from slist@localhost) by lists2.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) id f95NAMw29254; Fri, 5 Oct 2001 17:10:22 -0600 Resent-Date: Fri, 5 Oct 2001 17:10:22 -0600 X-Original-Sender: tim@route66autoclub.com Fri Oct 5 17:10:22 2001 Message-Id: <200110052314.QAA26977@ns1.inland.net> Date: Fri, 5 Oct 2001 16:10:38 -0700 From: Dorothy Havens <dhavens@bellsouth.net> Old-To: GAMURRAY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MURRAY] Buckners X-Mailer: Tim Seawolf Self's registered AK-Mail 3.11 [eng] Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Resent-Message-ID: <FqjdmC.A.zIH.e3jv7@lists2.rootsweb.com> To: GAMURRAY-L@rootsweb.com Resent-From: GAMURRAY-L@rootsweb.com Reply-To: GAMURRAY-L@rootsweb.com X-Mailing-List: <GAMURRAY-L@rootsweb.com> archive/latest/156 X-Loop: GAMURRAY-L@rootsweb.com Precedence: list Resent-Sender: GAMURRAY-L-request@rootsweb.com Actually, our government still "shoves" people off their land. If you have a piece of property the government thinks it needs, they condemn it, then take it. It is called "progress" but in real life, it is the same thing. We just don't kill them now. I know one individual whose farm dates back to the original land grants and his farm was in the way of a road widening and the house his grand parents built (this person is 80) was in the way. Guess what, it was condemned. They did let him have the house moved to another part of the farm but took what they needed. The point is, we cannot carry a grudge over something we had nothing to do with or something we have no power over. We live in a wonderful, free country. Enjoy it. I am hearing a lot of anger over something that happened a long time ago, not from you but several others. Hopefully, I took them the wrong way. I have Indian blood from both sides and I am proud of who I am. Let us get on with finding our heritage and be proud of the brave men and women who settled this country. I have just returned from Seattle (driving) and every mountain we came over and all the rough land, all I could think about was the brave pioneers and how proud we all should be of our forefathers. Thanks for letting me have my say so.
