Hello, A good starting point would be Fitzhugh-Brundage's "Lynching in the New South" which has a list of Georgia lynchings derived from the Tuskegee Institute lists, I think. That should pinpoint which county the lynching took place and the date. I don't have my copy but a library should have one. Then go to the newspaper for that county to find the story. You should find a copy of the newspaper in the local county archive or at the Georgia Newspaper collection at UGA. As far as I understand it, there were no "official" lynchings in Georgia from 1926 to 1930, so that might help, but I know of at least one, in Toccoa, that isn't on the records, so if you don't find it in the official records don't give up. If you do find something, please let me know as I am very interested in the subject.
