The Prater's Mill Foundation is starting the genealogy section of their Southern Appalachian Folklife Center. The plans are for this to ultimately be a museum, research library and much, much more. We are in need of Family Group Sheets or even entire family trees for the families that settled in this area including those that lived here for a while and moved on. If you have extremely old photographs of your ancestors a copy of those included with your records would be great. As it grows, we foresee this genealogy collection to be a wonderful place to research your missing ancestors in this area.
