I looked it up in the 1850 census in Ancestry.com, and the only Robert Long I found was in Coweta County, District 19, Robert L. Z. Long, age 30, a physician, born in Tennessee. He was married within the year. There was a William R. Long in Murray County, District 63, age 25, farmer, born in Texas. Looks like he is single. Page 160 That's all I found. I guess Georgia isn't indexed in the 1860 Ancestry database.
