I live in MAURY Co., TN. Columbia is the county seat. It is located 40 miles south of Nashville. The name is pronounced MURRAY, so that may account for the confusion. The county was established in 1807 and we are fortunate to have all of our records back to that time. We have a very active Historical Society and have published a quarterly since 1965, which is called "Historic Maury". Membership in the society is $10.00 per year, which includes the quarterly.
